Company History

Wabi was incorporated in 1991 to provide industrial maintenance to the forestry sector. The contracting out of major maintenance provided a market in Northern Ontario that allowed the business to grow and develop a blue chip client list of repeat customers. These customers came to rely on our ability to get the job done.

They soon began to ask us to provide these services across Canada and in the United States. We incorporated Wabi America in 2003 to meet the demand in the US. We incorporated in the provinces west of Ontario as required by our customers. In 2006 we incorporated in Mexico.

The growing demand for forestry products, especially oriented strand board (OSB), over the past five years generated a build out of productive capacity. Our customers approached us to ensure the installation of their process equipment in these new facilities met the exacting standards of the manufacturers.

Wabi continued to grow and diversified into new sectors. From Hydro Electric projects in Northern Ontario, to Mining in Mexico, to Oil and Gas in Fort McMurray, to Diamond Mines in the Northwest Territories Wabi has expanded while providing the same services and skills to new customers.

In October 2008 KBR acquired Wabi. KBR's acquisition of Wabi has strengthened its position to compete for projects in new sectors while maintaining the same level of service expected by its clients.
